THE FALLS EVENT CENTER, SALT LAKE CITY – If you saw Thuy and Chad’s engagement session in the Rockies, you’ll remember the beautiful sunset and endless fields of poppies. Well, it only got prettier from there! This wedding combined Vietnamese culture with the traditional American wedding. Traditionally, Vietnamese brides change dresses a minimum of three times – the Western white wedding gown, a second Western dress for dancing, and a third traditional Vietnam Áo dài gown. Thuy chose the most gorgeous gowns with intricate detail. Her Ao dai was custom made and flown in from Vietnam. She wanted to keep the feel of the traditional Vietnamese gown, but personalize it with a bit of glam. The scrolling design on her dress and crown were even hand painted!
From the bride:
Chad & I met in pharmacy school 10 years ago and have been inseparable ever since! We’re both passionate about travel and we have the same perspective on some of the more obscure or random things most people often dismiss. I couldn’t imagine a better partner in life than Chad.
Throughout their wedding day, you’ll see the mantra “Yay Us!” woven in. It’s a phrase Thuy and Chad often say to each other, and made their wedding even more intimate. You’ll see it on the cake, embroidered inside of the groom’s suit, and embroidered on the inside of Thuy’s ceremony dress as her “something blue.” We couldn’t imagine a sweeter wedding and Jessica Janae Photography captured it all so beautifully!
