Cultural Fusion Wedding Rich with Bold Colors and Longstanding Traditions

THE FALLS EVENT CENTER SALT LAKE CITY – Indian weddings are vibrant, fun, and full of bold colors. But when you add elements of Cambodia and Utah, it bumps it to a whole new level. Talk about a cultural fusion wedding done right! This wedding did the perfect job of marrying all the cultural aspects that brought them together as a couple. The celebration took place at The Falls Event Center in Salt Lake City creating an industrial vibe with rustic touches. The setting included open spaces and brick walls paired with table top decor such as tree stumps and fresh flowers in old wine bottles. The bride even included a few sentimental touches such as old wedding photos of her grandparents.

The bride, Rachel, was adorned in gorgeous henna and wore a traditional American dress and Indian dresses throughout the night. Each one was unique and breathtakingly beautiful! She wore a traditional white, lace wedding dress for the ring ceremony, a mustard-colored sari for greeting guests and the cake cutting, and lastly, an absolutely stunning orange Anarkali embellished with gold detail. We’re still in a debate over which one was our favorite! In addition to the bright colors, decor, and dresses, the couple chose to include other cultural aspects that were important to them. They greeted wedding guests at the door the traditional Cambodian way, did a ring ceremony where her husband spoke Cambodian during their vows, had a first dance, played Cambodian music, and celebrated with food and desserts from both India and Cambodia. To top it all off, her new husband surprised her with a traditional Indian Bollywood dance!

From the Bride, Rachel:
I happened to stumble upon The Falls Event Center from an external site and it became a no brainer to book with The Falls. The potential to be something incredible had us committed. It is such a beautiful building from the glass doors and arch to the brick and gorgeous Trolley beams. I was so excited to know that we had it for our day! It sounds silly, but I feel like it was meant to be.

We also had the freedom to decorate however we wanted and to bring in outside caterers, which was really important to me. I didn’t want to be restricted on what I could or couldn’t serve my guests. It’s rare to find a place so beautiful, easy to work with, spacious, and affordable. There are so any benefits to booking with The Falls Event Center. It was a relief to find a company that just takes care of you, and it was a delight to have our celebration at The Falls Event Center in Trolley Square. It truly is a hidden gem.
